Who I am

This website is operated by Kate La Trobe, trading as KATELATROBE LTD. I provide coaching, brain profiling, training and speaking on neurodiversity, working with clients in the United Kingdom, South Africa and internationally.

For anything relating to your data, contact me at klt@katelatrobe.com.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use this website: when you fill in the contact form, request a resource, book a call, or simply browse.

If you become a coaching client, you will receive a separate client privacy notice covering session notes, assessments and anything else arising from our work together. This website policy does not cover that.

What I collect, and why

When you use the contact form

I collect your name, email address, the type of support you are asking about, your location, and whatever you write in the message. I use this to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to set that up. The lawful basis is legitimate interest: you have contacted me and expect a reply.

When you request a resource download

I collect your email address, and your name if you provide it. I use this to send you the resource. If I later want to send you anything else, I will ask for your consent first, and you can withdraw it at any time.

When you book a call

Bookings run through Calendly, which collects your name, email address and the time you choose. Calendly holds this data under its own privacy policy.

When you use the "Where do I start?" quiz

Nothing is collected. Your answers stay in your browser, are never sent anywhere, and are gone when you close the tab.

When you simply browse

This site uses no analytics and sets no cookies. Netlify, who host the site, keep standard server logs including IP addresses for security and reliability purposes.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies.

There is no analytics, no advertising tracking, and no third-party embeds that set cookies. That is why you have not been asked to accept anything.

If this changes in future, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

Who else sees your data

I use a small number of providers to run the business. Each holds data under its own terms:

  • Google Workspace · email and documents
  • Netlify · website hosting and contact form submissions
  • Calendly · call bookings

I do not sell your data. I do not share it for marketing. I will not pass it to anyone else without telling you, unless I am legally required to.

Where work is delivered in partnership, for example organisational training delivered jointly with another practitioner, I will tell you at the time and only share what is necessary to deliver that work.

International transfers

I live and work in South Africa and serve clients in the United Kingdom, so your information may be accessed from either country, and my providers may store it elsewhere.

Where data moves between the UK, the EU and South Africa, I rely on the appropriate safeguards in UK GDPR and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), including standard contractual clauses where my providers offer them.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become work: up to 12 months, then deleted
  • Resource download emails: until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you
  • Client records: as set out in your client privacy notice, in line with my professional obligations as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst

Your rights

Whether you are covered by UK GDPR or POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Ask what information I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct anything wrong
  • Ask me to delete it
  • Ask me to stop using it, or restrict how I use it
  • Ask for a copy in a portable format
  • Object to me using it on the basis of legitimate interest
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is what I relied on

Email klt@katelatrobe.com and I will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the regulator.

United Kingdom: Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk
South Africa: Information Regulator, inforegulator.org.za

You are welcome to raise it with me first, but you do not have to.

Children

This website is aimed at adults. Where I work with children and young people, I do so through their parents or guardians, and consent is handled as part of the coaching agreement rather than through this website.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. If the change is significant, I will say so on the site.
